 At today's plenary of the Conference on Disarmament, Deputy Permanent Representative Umetsu reiterated Japan's commitment to the ongoing initiatives that address emerging technologies, such as the Political Declaration on Responsible Military Use of AI and Autonomy, the Responsible Artificial Intelligence in the Military Domain (REAIM) Summit and the Group of Governmental Experts on Lethal Autonomous Weapons Systems (LAWS).
