Announcement of Japan’s contribution to the Anti-personnel Mine Ban Convention Implementation Support Unit(ISU)

On July 24, Ambassador Ogasawara visited Mr. Juan Carlos Ruan, the Director of the Implementation Support Unit (ISU) of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention, and announced that Japan will contribute 19,135CHF to the ISU in 2023. Mr. Ruan expressed his appreciation to Japan for its financial contribution over the years, and for Japan’s commitment to promote implementation of Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention, especially as a member of committee on enhancement of cooperation and assistance and also of the Universalization Coordination Group this year. They exchanged extensively views on the current situation of mine action efforts, and beyond.
