  July 9: Ambassador Ogasawara visited Ms. Sheila MWEEMBA, the Director of the Implementation Support Unit (ISU) of the Convention on Cluster Munitions, and announced that Japan contributed 7,000CHF to the ISU in 2020. Ms. Mweemba expressed her appreciation towards Japan’s financial contribution to the ISU and her expectation of continuous support from the Government of Japan to the implementation of the convention. They exchanged views on the recent activities of the ISU and the current situation of cluster munitions.
  July 9: Ambassador Ogasawara visited Mr. Juan Carlos Ruan, the Director of the Implementation Support Unit (ISU) of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention, and announced that Japan contributed 25,471CHF to the ISU in 2020. Mr. Ruan expressed his appreciation for years of financial contribution from Japan and Japan’s various support for mine-action. They exchanged their views on the current situation of mine action efforts.
  February 25: Ambassador Ogasawara attended the second Ministerial Meeting of the Stockholm Initiative on Nuclear Disarmament and the Non-Proliferation Treaty held in Berlin, Germany. The meeting adopted the Ministerial Declaration and its Annex document.
  February 25: H.E. Ms. OMI Asako, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, delivered a statement at the Fifth International Pledging Conference for the Implementation of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.
  February 25: H.E. Ms. OMI Asako, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, delivered a statement at the 1534th Plenary of the Conference on Disarmament (2020 High Level Segment).
  February 13th: Ambassador Ogasawara co-hosted the Reception to Celebrate the Emperor’s Birthday with Ambassador Yamazaki of the Permanent Mission of Japan to the International Organizations in Geneva and Ambassador Okaniwa of the Consulate of Japan in Geneva and welcomed over 430 international colleagues from the delegations, the UN agencies and the civil society.
  January 21:Ambassador Ogasawara delivered his first statement at the Conference on Disarmament 2020 session and expressed his commitment to contributing to the advancement of nuclear disarmament as a responsible member of the CD, the only multilateral disarmament negotiation forum.
  January 17:Ambassador Ogasawara made a coutesy visit to Ms. Tatiana VALOVAYA, Director General of the United Nations Office at Geneva/Secretary General of the Conference on Disarmament (CD) and submitted his credentials to H.E. Mr. Rachid BELBAKI, President of the CD.
